Frought with a history of civil war, Rwanda is arriving in the specialty coffee industry with a great cupping coffee. Situated in the west of Rwanda, near the shores of Lake Kivu, these beans are grown at high altitudes (1450-1800 meters) in volcanic soils. As with Kenya, and other East African coffees, this 100% Bourbon bean has a good body and a classic clean taste. I enjoy this cup at any time of the day, it is smooth with hints of sweetness, hazelnut, lemon/citrus tones, rich body and a winey acidity.
Cup: Blackberry, Citrus
Full City or Vienna roast is a good starting point for this coffee.
100% Arabica
